A delegation from the city of Foshan from Guangdong Province in China visited the office of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The delegation included office director Li Jing Luan, head of the foreign affairs department Yuan Yongxin and head of the e-commerce department Vincent Lee. The office acts on behalf of the Ministry of Economy and is responsible for promoting the economy and developing international cooperation.
The city of Foshan is home to 8 million people, and its domestic product is about 120 billion US dollars. This is an important center of industry, of which, in particular, half of the world production of refrigerators and air conditioners. There are also furniture, manufacturing machines, ceramics and pharmaceuticals.
During the meeting, issues of the development of economic cooperation between Poland and Foshan and Guangdong were discussed. The advantages of existing cooperation and the role played by the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce are emphasized.
The Chinese guests called their visit “intelligence” on world markets, during which they also visited Georgia and Saudi Arabia. The city administration plans to open a network of permanent sales representatives who will be engaged in marketing, logistics and advertising activities in local markets. In 2018, a representative office was opened in Budapest, and, in the opinion of director Li Jing Luan, the consequences of his work are very satisfactory.
The chairman of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Marek Traczyk, was invited by the Chinese guests to Foshan. It was found that in the near future, the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with Chinese partners, will organize an economic mission in which individual enterprises from Poland will take part.
